The Old Man and His Bottle
by Jim Elliff
When you get old,
Your feet get cold;
Your bones begin to shake.
Your nerves all freeze,
And from your knees
Your calves soon start to ache.
Take my advice
And pay the price
For a soothing water bottle.
It heats the toes
Up to the nose,
And lets you sleep full throttle.
And if it comes,
By measuring sums,
To a choice twixt bottle and mate.
Compare her feet
For comfort and heat,
And then decide her fate.
